Cypriot athletes complete the Euchidios Athlos ultramarathon

The Euchidios Athlos, a demanding 107.5-kilometer ultramarathon from Plataies to Delphi, recently took place with several Cypriot athletes participating. Theodoros Sofokleous achieved the best performance ever by a Cypriot athlete in the event, finishing in 4th place overall with a time of 9 hours, 34 minutes, and 50 seconds. His coach, Aris Myrkos, noted that Sofokleous followed a specialized training plan focusing on quality over quantity. Another participant, Byron Feidiou, successfully completed the race and secured 5th place in the general classification. Additionally, Marios Panteli, representing AEL Runners, finished the course in 13 hours, 45 minutes, and 21 seconds. The race route features approximately 2,119 meters of elevation gain and historically challenges runners with difficult terrain and weather conditions. All athletes were praised by their respective clubs for their endurance and performance.
