Bulgaria wins the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna

The 70th Eurovision Song Contest concluded on Saturday, May 17, at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna. Bulgarian pop artist Dara won the competition with her song 'Bangaranga', receiving 516 points from both national juries and the public vote. Israel, represented by Noam Bettan with the song 'Michelle', finished in second place after leading the televoting results with 343 points. Cyprus, represented by Antigoni Buxton with the track 'Jalla', placed 19th out of 25 finalists, while Greece’s representative Akylas finished in 10th place. Australia secured 4th place, and several pre-contest betting favorites, including Finland's Pete Parkkonen and Linda Lampenius, did not reach the top positions. This victory marks a significant return for Bulgarian National Television following a three-year hiatus. The final broadcast featured a diverse set of performances, with artists representing 25 countries across the continent.
